Concert posters, to me, are the perfect blend of art and music which are two of my passions. The combination of these two passions has led me to be a concert poster collector for quite some time. Often times, instead of wanting to hear the band’s music, I am more excited to see if they’re offering a print. My personal collection includes work from Brad Klausen, Alan Forbes, Dan Grzeca, Jay Ryan, Jermaine Rogers, John Lackey and many other great designers.

I recently started creating my own concert poster concepts in Illustrator and received some positive feedback on them.

I showed a concept to a friend in the band The Sleepers who liked it so much that he passed it along to his band mates who also enjoyed it. Thus my first concert poster design was born.

I took a class with Steve Walters at Screwball Press and really loved the screening process. He walked me through the separation process, exposing and prepping the screens, and the printing process. I had not had this much fun with a design project in a long time. I loved the collaborative feel of everything.
