Iron and Wine Concert Poster Concept

I heard that Iron and Wine was coming to town for a couple of shows so I decided to take a crack at a poster design for a little practice. I’ve been working on my pen and ink techniques lately and decided this would be a good project to work on those skills. The poster consists of a portrait of Sam Beam (who’s stage name is Iron and Wine) and some imagery from lyrics in the songs on his new album, Kiss Each Other Clean. It also has a drawing of The Hideout where he was to play a small WXRT show.
