I was really excited when I was contacted to design a tour poster for Amos Lee. I have been a big fan of Amos’ music since his first release and have seen him multiple times when he stopped through Chicago.
The latest poster design is similar to the one that I created for his WXRT Studio X performance (check it out here) in Chicago back in March. It has an image of a Spanish Mission and was inspired by his song “El Camino”. In the song, Amos sings about El Camino Real, which is the 600 mile stretch of road, also known as the California Mission Trail, that connects a large number of these Spanish missions.
The poster is 18″ x 24″ and printed on French Paper’s Speckletone Cream 80# cover stock. The 2-color print is a teal and brown color that really pops off of the cream-colored paper giving it a very natural look.
The posters will be available starting at his next show this Tuesday at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. Stop by the merch table to pick one up if you are out on the East Coast. Don’t forget to visit Amos’ online store as well. You can pick up the new album or one of the t-shirts they have with the album artwork on it. Maybe if these posters sell well I can talk them into using my design for a t-shirt haha.
