Poster For The Airborne Toxic Event Live From Studio X Performance

I created this poster for the WXRT Live From Studio X performance with The Airborne Toxic Event last month. I was inspired by my visit to an open house held by Judgeworks and Ground Up, the studios of Kathleen Judge and Dan Grzeca who are a couple of master designers/screenprinters. While I was there checking out their work I spoke briefly with Judge and she encouraged me to give scratchboard a try. The next morning I went straight to the art store and bought the materials and tools i needed to create the design.

The poster is an abstract pattern and I used the color scheme from the band’s latest album, All At Once. Overall I am really happy with the way that the poster turned out and I’m definitely looking forward to using scratchboard again.
